We are writing this, today Friday 24 Sept/2010.
This is a very exciting, wonderful, but also stressful week, our church and ministry have partnered together with 1014 churches in the city of Kampala to host Andrew Palau, son of Evangelist Luis Palau the international evangelist.
This is a unique event to us in that we are used to the traditional model of crusades, this event is completely different. It is called Love Kampala Festival and it begun with a season of service that we launched in June.
The season of service has been, the church reaching out and loving its community, church members have cleaned the streets, donated blood, have provided clean water and in one place have provided a pit latrine.
This weekend is the climax of the Love Kampala Festival and we started with reaching out in secondary schools and universities. The initial outreaches were led by Jose Zayas our friend from Portland, Oregon and this week now it is Andrew Palau.
The city is very excited. Some of the events already done are; a dinner for leaders and business men and a dinner for women, this event was so amazing because we got more women than we expected and the response was very exciting.
Andrew Palau has also spoken in prisons and yesterday morning he spoke to the boda- boda riders.
We shall be updating you next week after the big weekend event.
Please pray for Kampala that God will shower down his blessing upon our city and that many will turn to Christ.
