We praise the Lord that once again we are celebrating the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the greatest single of event in the history of Christianity. Through Jesus’ resurrection Christianity has a meaning, Christianity has a message and Christianity is unique.
The message of the resurrection gives us the assurance that salvation is sure and the decision we made to accept Jesus is the best.
1. MY SALVATION IS SURE AND SECURE
The message of salvation is based on the death of Jesus on the cross. We all have sinned and we could not help ourselves. When Jesus went on the cross He was paying for my sins and your sins. But if He died and stayed in the grave, He would have just been like any other person, but when he rose from the grave, the resurrection shows that God keeps His word. Jesus promised to die and also resurrect on the 3rd day. 1 Cor 15:14
“And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.”
2. WE SHALL ALSO RISE
Since Jesus rose from the grave, we shall also arise when we die. The Bible says He is the first fruit for those who rose from the grave. 1 Cor 15:23, 53 -54
23 “But each in turn: Christ, the first fruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him (NIV)
53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” (NIV)
So the resurrection of Jesus assures me that my future is safe.”
3. THE RESURRECTION SHOWS THAT I CAN TRUST HIM FOR TODAY AND TOMORROW
Jesus is alive, He is not like other religious leaders who died and remained in the grave.
He is risen.
The tomb is empty.
So the rising of Jesus from the grave proves that all the promises in the Bible are true, I can trust every promise that we have in the Bible.
I pray that God will encourage you this Easter that you will trust him for your salvation if you are not already. That you may know that you have a living hope both for you and your loved ones and that you remember that there is a resurrection.
I pray that this Easter season will be a season that you will trust God for your day to day living.
